The OMICSS-26 Genome Bioinformatics Summer School is set to return in 2026 with its fifth edition, continuing its mission to introduce newcomers to the rapidly evolving field of bioinformatics. Designed especially for beginners, the program offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience at the intersection of bioinformatics, data science, and life sciences.
Throughout the summer school, participants will gain practical exposure to modern molecular technologies, core bioinformatics algorithms, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis. The curriculum culminates in a real-world bioinformatics project, allowing students to apply newly acquired skills to realistic research scenarios.
To support participants who are new to the field, OMICSS-26 will once again offer optional bridge courses ahead of the main program. These preparatory courses, covering molecular biology, programming, and statistics, are offered separately and are designed to help beginners build the essential background needed for a confident start in bioinformatics.
The OMICSS-26 Summer School will take place from July 20 to August 14, 2026, with applications for the main program opening soon. Notably, the first bridge course, “Introduction to Molecular Biology,” will open for applications earlier, providing an accessible entry point for those taking their first steps into the field.
The 2026 edition is organized in partnership with ARCS.ai and the Institute of Molecular Biology, reinforcing the program’s strong academic and technological foundation and fostering closer collaboration between research, education, and innovation.
For more information and updates on applications, interested candidates are encouraged to follow OMICSS-26 announcements and explore the program details as they are released.
